É oficial: me apaixonei pela Itália.

Oi, gente!

Hey, guys! About the title of the post "it's official: I'm in love with Italy": I've been fighting against my love for this country ever since I first put my feet on it, but, well, I lost it hahha. I love the country, the culture, the people, the architecture and the moments of "OMG, this place is so desorganized" are getting less and less every day.

This week started with great news: classes are over! The problem is that of course, I'm not on vacation: I have a montain of tests just waiting for me haha. But, let's go to the nice week news:

Segunda, 19/05:

On Monday, I studied all day long and, at night, went out with Kleo and Emi. We went to a pub to have Aperitivo, and Kleo invited me and Emi to go with her to Greece on the summer! We are very excited about it, later I'll write in here how it goes.

Ah, quase esqueci: no almoço, a Mari me ensinou a fazer arroz hahahah almoço do dia: arroz e feijão! UHUL! Hahhaah

On Tuesday, I studied all day long. In the end of the afternoon, AIESEC meeting, which was really nice. At night, I had dinner with Mari and Iole, and we talked for a looong time. Ah, almost forgot it: at lunch, Mari taught me how to cook rice! So I ate a very brazilian dish for lunch: rice and beans! I was going to put a picture of my lunch, but then I thought it would be unnecessary to have a beans photo on the blog hahahah

Quarta, 21/05:

On Wednesday, I woke up and went to an  AIESEC event, that was a photo exhibition of some of the interchanges realized and of the trainees that we received here in january. Guess what: I was in 90% of the pictures! Looking at them, it just made me realize how much I miss my friends ): after looking at the pictures, I stayed there with Joel, Valentina, Mattia and Martina to explain to people things about AIESEC.

O mural com as opções culturais do mês - The board where they put the cultural options of the month

In the afternoon, I went after my visa problem, that finally seems to be right haha. I was a little bit stressed with the bureocracy, disorganization, etc etc, but enough of saying this here because I don't want to make the blog my particular Wailing Wall.

After that, I came back home, had dinner with Mari - and everyday I'm more thankgul for moving here with she and Iole, they are so sweet! - and then I went to the center, to meet Paolo, my friend from the old house, to have dinner with him and his hometown friends. It was really nice - they have an association that basically helps people from other cities that come to Pavia to study, and I really liked it because it is hard to find friends, and even to find yourselg in the university if you're from another city. We stayed there for a couple of hours and then I came home because I had some aiesec things to do.

After I finished, I went back to the center, to meet my other friends in one of those concerts. Ah, and I found out why there are so many free concerts at this period: its to promote parties haha. In the beggining, it was of the university elections, and now it's for the European Parliment elections. I just loved this idea, because it's been like 3 weeks that we've had free concerts almost everyday ahha. I stayed in there just for a while and then I came home with Emilia, who was also in there.

Quinta, 22/05:

Fiquei em casa estudando, de novo. Ai, saudades vida sem provas hahahah.

On Thursday, I just studied all day long. I miss my non-exams life sooo much hahaha.

Sexta, 23/05:

On Friday, I studied in the morning, had lunch with Mari and in the afternoon, more studying. After a while, Iole invited me to have coffee with her, so basically my afternoon was divided by spending time with my cute flatmates and studying. At 6, I went to meet Anto to take an ice cream. We stayed there talking and can you believe it that Anto told me not to eat a briche because ~~ I've had enough carbs already ~~ ????????????? You know you're huge when your friends start controlling your carbs hahahaha. In an act of extreme rebelty, I took the brioche and ate it entirely hahaha poor Anto, he was trying to explain himself saying that he said that just because I was going to run after and it might get in the midle of my exercise, but I didnt buy it ahhha (just kidding, Anto!). And yes, I am that kind of person, you know, that buys an ice cream before going to do the exercise of the day hahaha.

Anyway, I went jogging and saw the sunset in the river! It was sooo pretty! And to not miss the habit of putting river pictures in the blog, here comes more of them haha

A eleição do parlamento Europeu é amanhã, então vocês imaginam o clima né hahaha.

After that, I came home, got ready and went to meet Anto and Giulia to go to one of those concerts that were again happening. The election of the European Parliment is tomorrow, so you can imagine how the atmosphere is in here haha Giulia told me that she's kind of afraid because people who are against euro are becoming stronger, but we don't think that they will win... And both Anto and Giulia were complaining about stupid thing that people post on facebook, and it was such a big relief to know that it's not only in my country that donkey uninformed people exist haha.

Anyway, there were two concerts, one in Piazza Vittoria and another one on the three towers (a place near the university), and we stayed a bit in both of them, but the one on the towers was better haha. It was clearly from a party, with the flags and everything (the other concerts were more sutil, I think), and I just loved that - it's so beautiful when people actually know the differences between the parties (that doesn't happen so much in Brazil, many people just vote in what the mass-media wants them to) and go support that by free concerts! Hahahha

Chama Bella Ciao, olhem:

We stayed there until the end of the concert, and they played a couple of songs from the resistance of Facism in WW2 - guess it if I don't know them by heart already? It was so nice, everyone was singing together, it's almost impossible to describe it. The song that I liked the most of those resistance ones is called "Bella Ciao":

After the concert, we went to a pub that I have gone before with Duda and Fabio, but only remembered it on the moment I stepped there ahha. It's really cool in there, they play "Seth Cohen" music (those who were teenagers in 2003 will understand me), and for those who like beer, they make their own and when its not theirs it's from a bigger brand that sells different flavours - yeserday, Anto had a blueberry one...

Beijinhos!

We stayed there for a little bit, and then I came back home! See you on the next post (: xoxo!

I woke up and went to find Duda and Fabio, because I had primissed that I was going to lend my italian-portuguese dictionary for Duda to make a test. After meeting them, I went to see Cecilia, a friend of mine from AIESEC, because we had to make a speech for one class about the summer interchange programmes.

When we arrived there, obviously, there was no one yey (hi, ponctuality haha). We waited until the prof arrived, and in the meantime, Andrea and Nicolò (also from AIESEC) went there. We found out that we made a duplication of this speech on one of our docs, so we were all 4 in there to do the exact same thing. When the professsor arrived, we discovered that there were lie 5 people in the room, so the speech was more a chat than anything, which was really nice - no pressure from having to talk in front of 100 people, for example haha.

When I left there, I went to meet Danilo to help him find a project for the summer. After that, AIESEC meeting, and then I went to the Legal Medicine lesson. This class is always awful, but this time a girl actually fainted in the room, so you can imagine how extremelly unpleasant it was haha.

When I left the class, Anto called me to say that he saw me on the street and to invite me to dine with him, a friend of his that I don't remeber the name and Emi. We went to have pizza, which was really nice, and then I went home to study.

Quarta, 07/05:

Graças a Deus o Patryk, meu amigo polonês, me encontrou no mercado e foi me socorrer hahaha.

I woke up at 8 - only God knows how I've managed to do it, because I slept at 6 (I really hate tests). I met Greta, we did an interchange speech, and then I went to my lessons. After that, more studying, until Legal Medicine (which was better), and then I went to the supermarket to buy a new lamp for my bedroom - because mine was broken haha. I was going to buy the wrong one without noticing, but thanks God, Patryk, my polonese friend, found me in there and went to help me haha in the end, I got the right one!

Quinta, 08/05:

As the test was in the day after, I decided that it was a very healthy choice to skip International Comercial law to study, considering that this lesson only stresses me. I stayed the whole day reading, except for a small gap where I went to the Questura, the place where they deliver a document that is like the Visa. When I arrived there, there was an error in my document, sooo more work for me to try to fix it haha. I decided to care about this after the test, though.

When I finally got home, I decided to go out or I'd get crazy haha. I went to help Danilo to find his project and then we went to find our friends in a festival that is happening here - the University Music Festival, where people from Pavia sing. It was really nice! I even made a video for you, to compensate the lack of pictures on this post haha but you can't hear it quite well because my friends are speaking right next to the camera. Update: blogspot simply does'nt upload the video ):

I went back home to review the things I had studied, but as I had taken many coffees, I just couldn't sleep at all (i'm predicting a huge scolding from my mom after this post), so I just studied all night.

Sexta, 09/05

More coffee and I went to do the test, which was a huge disaster because I panicked. The tests here are oral, so you can imagine how nervous I was haha. Besides all the desparation, the bright side is that there's another test in a few days, so I can prepare myself better. Ah, I took a picture of the classroom where the test was taken, because it simply doesn't seem like a classroom!

After the test, I went home to sleep - the total of hours slept on the week cannot be more than 15. Unfortunately, I woke up way earlier than I wish I had, so I just did AIESEC stuff to occupy my time - no way that I was going to study more in that day ahha. At night, I went out wiht Giulia and Anto, and we stayed talking on the Duomo, which was really nice.

I stayed the whole day divided in studying, eating and sleeping haha. At night, I went to a party of a friend of a friend of Danilo ahhaa. It was supposed to be a Hawaiian party, but there was nothing very typical in there, except for those necklaces... I went with Danilo, his friends, Laeti, her friends, and Jana, and I had a lot of fun, but I think I'm becoming old in spirit, because there was a point where I was just sick of it and stayed there eating Pringles and talking with Jana haha.

After the party, Laeti came to sleep in my house. I spent all night awake, talking to Becca, one of my dearest friends in Brazil, and then studying. Mary, my flat mate, arrived from Milan (she had gone there to a nightclub) so we had breakfast together, and only after that I went to bed, around 9...

Domingo, 11/05:

As my day starts only after I've slept and waken up, my day started at 2pm haha. Me and Laeti were talking and eating in the kitchen for a long time, and then we went to get ready, because we would have Emilia's birthday party after. We arrived there and met a lot of nice people. The b-day was in the park by the river, and it was a picnic. We stayed there just talking and doing nothing for about 3 hours and then I got home to study.

Fiquei estudando até tarde, pra variar (oi, sono desregulado), e finalmente fui dormir.

I stayed studying until very late and finally I went to bed.

Segunda, 12/05:

I spent the day alterning between classes and studyes, and OMG how studying can be tiring! The subject is really nice, but as I have studied it before, it's so boring to read everything again!

At night, I was going to have an Aperitivo with Emi, Anto and Laeti. I had 20 min to be there after classes, and I had to go to the supermarket, so I just did everything as fast as I could to arrive there on time. When I got there, Laeti called to say that she couldn't come anymore and Anto and Emi say that they would be at least 1 hour late --' I went back home, because I had more stuff to do and had no will of staying alone waiting for 1 hour.

In the morning, I went to an AIESEC meeting and then I tryied to solve the problem with the permit of staying, that had come with a mistake. As it was sunny, I decided that it was summer, and went out with highly appropriated clothes for the 8 degrees that were outside haha.

E fecha as 12.

I've decided to ignore the cold because I really didn't have time to come back home and change. After the meeting, I got all the documents ready to go to the place that solves this kind of problems. Of course, when I arrived, it was closed haha - it opens at 10 and closes at 12, for those who thought that only 3 hours of work a day was too little haha. Fortunately, I met my friend Nicolò in there, and we stayed there talking, so the waiting was not so boring.

When it oppened, the person incharged of taking care of that told me that the problem was in my travel insuarance. I called my mom and asked her to make a new one, but it would be ready only in the next day. To summarize, I lost a whole morning trying to solve this and couldnt haha.

A tarde, estudos. A noite, tinha outro daquele University Festival, o show que a faculdade organiza.

In the afternoon, I just studied. At night, I went to help Danilo finding a project and then went to the concert - the University Music Festival was happening again - to meet my friends. It was really nice, again, but I stayed in there just for a while because I had to study.

Quarta, 14/05:

Fomos eu, a Emi, a Ana, o Andrea e o Anto.

Classes/studying/AIESEC all day long. The good news are that the Legal Medicine classes ended, and the bad news are that this means that the test is arriving haha. At night, I went to have dinner in Emi and Anto's house, and she cooked a delicious brazilian dinner. As a desseart, we had bread with doce de leite, a sweet that is very tradicional in Latin America, and is simply deliciouos.

After dinner, Andrea and Ana brought me home. We talked non-stopingly the entire way, and then I went to bed.

Quinta, 15/06:

O seguro finalmente ficou pronto, então fui resolver as coisas do Permesso.

The insurance was finally ready, so I went to solve the Permit of Stay problem. When I went there, the guy that solves this wasn't there. They told me that he would be at a place that is basically out of Pavia, and so I went there. When I arrived, I saw that there was no reference for his counter, so I asked a girl if she knew anything about this and she let me go with her on her turn to solve the problem she had, to ask if the guy was there. Of coourse, he wasnt. I came back, and my feet were just bleeding, because I always go out with super appropriated shoes for long walks but no.

Enfim, voltei pra casa e passei o dia todo estudando.

I never thought I would say that, but: I miss you, brazilian bureocracy problems! You are SO much easier to solve!

Anyway, I went home and spent the whole day studying. I had dinner with Mary and Iole, my flatmates, which was really nice. Mary cooked a typical food from the south, which is like a pizza but covered, and it was reeeally good.

After that, I came to bed, because on the next day I had to wake up really early.

Sexta, sábado e domingo (16, 17 e 18/05)

Conferencia da AIESEC! UHUL!

AIESEC Conference! Yayyy! I met Anto and Laeti and we went to the station, to take the train to Milan and go to the Youth to Business Forum (an enterpreunership and inovation congress, that I really think is worth to go! They have it everywhere in the world, so if you have the opportunity, don't miss it!). We arrived late in Milan, and I was very happy to tell eveyone "I-told-you-so" haha. Besides that, we got lost, no one answered the phone to help us, and we arrived in the conference only for the second part.

A segunda palestra

In the afternoon, I went with Laeti to find a dress for me - there was a gala dinner and I simply forgot to take a dress with me. We wanted to buy it on lunch time, but I didn't find anything, so we only finished in the end of the afternoon (and I still couldn't find anything worth buying). We arrived there on time to see the last parts, and they were really nice. After that,we went to a dinner/party that the alumni of AIESEC had organized, to celebrate the 60th birthday of AIESEC Italy.

After that, we went to the hotel, that was in Bergamo. I slept in the bus and, as my sleeping schedule is completely disregulated, that was enought to keep me awake until 6 in the morning - I stayed talking with Laeti and Joel all night. In the next day, I was super tired, but still all the conference was so nice that I didn't feel like reaching my room and bed at any moment haha.

At night, we had the gala dinner - Emilia saved me by lending a dress and a pair of shoes - and after that, a party, and on sunday we had more of the conference. I had lots of fun, the whole event was really well organized, and I got to meet new and nice people. Ah, and I met a girl that had gone to Maringá, to work in my former project, and a boy who's going there this summer, also to work with this project! I was so proud to know that!

Gabi

After that, I came back home with the guys from Pavia. I was dying, like a zumbi, and the situation of the others wasn't that different, but we were all very happy and satisfied with the weekend, that was amazing, Ahh, I almost had to pay a huge fine, because on the train, when the police officer went to check if everyone had the tickets, I simply couldn't find mine! In the end, it was under my seat haha and eveything worked out ok.

Well, this is the journal of the last few days - I'll keep updating you with the latest news!

Kisses,

Gabi
